How to play LoLdoku

Fill the daily champion grid, find the mystery champion in Classic, or recognize an outline in Silhouette. Every mode also offers unlimited practice.

Classic: find the mystery champion

Play daily Classic or try Classic Unlimited. Type a champion’s name and select a suggestion. Choose Easy, Medium, or Hard before your first guess; difficulty locks once the round starts. On Medium, each guess reveals eight attributes: region, position, class, resource, attack type, default adaptive type, release year, and base attack range. Easy swaps resource and attack range for gender and species. Hard also reveals eight attributes: region, class, resource, release year, attack range, base health, base armor, and movement speed. Each difficulty has its own daily champion.

Green means an exact match, gold means overlapping values, and red means no match. Arrows point toward a higher or lower numeric value, including health, armor, and movement speed on Hard. You have unlimited guesses. On Easy and Medium, splash art unlocks after five guesses and a first-letter hint after seven. Click an unlocked hint to reveal it. Hard has no hints.

The daily champion changes at midnight UTC. Progress saves in this browser, and finished games include a spoiler-free result to copy. Giving up reveals the answer and finishes the day. Unlimited lets you start another round whenever you like.

Silhouette: recognize the champion’s outline

Play daily Silhouette or choose Silhouette Unlimited. Identify a champion from a blacked-out, zoomed-in shape. Type a name and select a suggestion to submit your guess.

With automatic zoom enabled, incorrect guesses widen the view through nine zoom levels. The eye button lets you hold the current view; turn it back on to reveal the view your guesses have unlocked. Guesses are unlimited, so use the weapon, pose, and body shape to narrow down the champion as more of the outline appears. Daily progress saves in this browser and the puzzle resets at midnight UTC. Unlimited lets you start a new round whenever you like.

Abilities: recognize a champion’s kit

Play daily Abilities or try Abilities Unlimited. Start with one ability icon. Another appears after 2, 4, 6, and 8 wrong guesses, while previous icons stay visible. Guesses are unlimited, and a wrong one never ends the round: it only brings you closer to the next icon. The clues use the standard passive and Q/W/E/R icons; names and slots stay hidden until the result. Everyone gets the same champion and reveal order, changing at midnight UTC. Progress saves in this browser, and your result can be shared without spoiling the answer. Unlimited deals a random champion and kit order, and lets you reroll whenever you like.

Connections: sort sixteen champions into four groups

Play daily Connections or try Connections Unlimited. Sixteen champions hide four groups of four that share a connection: a region, class, lane, species, resource, or release era. Select four champions and submit them as a group. Each champion belongs to exactly one group, so a champion who seems to fit two ideas is a clue that one of them is a trap.

A correct group locks in with its category and color, from gold for the most straightforward to violet for the trickiest. You can make four mistakes; three out of four from one group earns a “One away” hint, and repeating a guess costs nothing. Shuffle rearranges the tiles when you need a fresh look. Everyone gets the same daily board, changing at midnight UTC, and your result can be shared without spoiling the answers. Unlimited deals a new board whenever you like.

Daily champion grid

Play the daily 3×3 grid on the homepage or deal your own in Grid Unlimited. A new set of row and column clues arrives at midnight UTC, and your progress saves in this browser. Unlimited draws a random grid from the same rotation, skipping the boards the daily is about to use, and lets you start a new one at any time.

The goal: fill a 3×3 champion grid

Each row and column has a category. Your task is to find a League of Legends champion that matches both categories for each of the nine cells. A correct answer must satisfy the intersection, not just one clue.

Read the grid in three steps

  1. Choose a cell. Read its row label on the left and its column label above. Think of the two labels as a single question.
  2. Find a champion that matches both. Search by champion name, review your selection, and submit it when you are ready.
  3. Work through the remaining intersections. Keep track of the champions you have already used and the guesses you have left.

A simple example: Mage × Mana

Imagine a row labeled Mage and a column labeled Mana. Their shared cell calls for a champion who belongs to the stated mage category and uses mana. A champion who uses mana but does not meet the mage definition would not qualify.

A cell can have several valid answers. Finding a match is only part of the puzzle: deciding where to use a flexible champion can matter elsewhere on the board.

Guesses and champion reuse

You start with three lives. A correct guess fills its cell without costing a life; each wrong guess costs one life. The third miss ends the round. Fill all nine cells to win. A champion cannot be used twice in the same grid.

Understanding the categories

Categories may refer to regions, champion classes, resource types, or release periods. Read the definition attached to each label: a champion’s class is not necessarily the same as the lane where you play them, and a regional association may differ from a birthplace.

Only the categories and definitions published with a puzzle determine its answers. Use the clue definitions and champion reference when a category differs from a champion’s current in-game role or a detail you remember from the lore.

Tips for your first grid

  • Read all six labels before committing a champion.
  • Start with an intersection where you know a confident answer.
  • Save champions that fit several cells until you know where you need them.
  • Check the full name in search before submitting a guess.
  • Use category definitions when a role or lore association is unclear.

Scores, sharing, and daily play

After a grid ends, review your picks and the valid answers for each cell. Keep playing restarts the same daily board for practice. Your first completed daily result is preserved, and replay progress saves separately. Grid rarity comparisons, global statistics, streaks, and shareable grid results are not available yet. Classic and Silhouette have their own result-sharing controls.
